I'd love to hear more about Mexico if anybody fancies telling me about it.

What is it like to live in Mexico?

Generally how are things, plenty money around, relaxed way of life?

My knowledge of Mexico is not great, I'd love to expand upon that.

Cheers.

Hahaha, I love living in here...

I know that there are lots of problems in our society, like "high" crime rates, poverty, corruption... but that happens everywhere.

Food is great, beer is cheap, wonderful natural sceneries and resources... Culture, beer, tequila....

Maybe, beer? hahahahaa

You should come to visit us, I think that you'd like it... BTW, don't forget about the beer.

What matters is what you would like to hear from mexico? ? . Their customs? The kind of life is very different from state to state, we will get easier, the state where I live "Oaxaca, it is extremely quiet in comparison with" El D.F. " That is the capital, not because anything is the biggest city in the world. It is a very different lifestyle, but actually tell us what you want to know.

Just lifestyle really, all I know about Mexico is how I see it on the television and that's not very often and it's usually just when someone from America runs away and tries to get through the Mexican border, that good old plot used in so many movies!

Yeah just basic lifestyle questions, how much does your gas cost for the car, how much does a beer cost, is there lots of money around, does everyone have a good house, car, large television, DVD player, mobile phones all that sort of stuff.

Lol Agree...I love to live in Mexico, we can pay maids...and live like kings...lol
IMO almost all mexican people like to work very hard to achieve a good standard of life...employees like me and all the people that work in companies, only have 10 days of vacations every year...for example...European People have at least 30 days of vacation...

Stevie...what do English people think about mexicans...?

a gas is around 50 p per liter, a beer cost arond 30 p in a market and maybe two pounds in a night club. There is a lot money but in the hands of a few people. 80% of the population is poor, the rest have a good live, you can buy a 300 sqr meters flat for 150,000 pounds, with all the comodities. car are alot more cheaper than u.k a ferrari here is arround 150,000 pounds for example a f430..

In reality, and never known someone who crosses the border is no longer detained by the Border Patrol, as you say, only in the movies, lifestyle, I think it is somewhat more pleasant, except that here there is more corruption, in almost everything from the application of the law to how to get a job, not whether gasoline is more expensive than in your country, depending on the size of view is the cost, a beer like everywhere, depending on where this haci will be a hard task, there are places that cost $ 10.00 ten pesos ($ 1 USD approx.), and others who came to $ 120.00 one hundred twenty pesos ($ 11 USD approx.), the rest depends on the economic situation of each individual.

GAS: 60 cents per liter (USD)
BEER: 60 cents per can (USD)

i think almost all of the people her have a house, car, TV, DVD, MOBILE phones...

BUT Talking about POVERTY...there are a few states...that are very poor, they have lack of services, food, water..etc, the people of that states often live from the camp...

For the other hand, in the cities there are a lot of people with plenty of money, the have Mansions, Ferraries, Lambos etc.

Uuy because it must, that if there is a lot of wealth in Mexico but the money is badly distributed, much note, there are families who have nothing and there are their spare money, it shows too. You explain what the money because the truth is not good at changing, television because not many of us are expensive LCD or plasma, DVD's I think in most of the houses are like cell phones. Watch you step on the link of some wallpapers to see the city where habit, I am from Zacatecas, Mexico. Http://www.zacatecas.gob.mx/WallPapers.html

Maybe, you watched a lot of Hollywood movies!! They don't know any about Mexico. Please don’t watch Salma Hayec and Antonio Banderas movies ... Hu huh hu! Those movies really bother me! The hospitality of people is well known around the world… attractiveness bitches… as Cancun, Los cabos, huatulco, etc, etc. We have good weather. Of course, we have some problems about corruption, but it happens everywhere and the most important thing is that we are working in order to improve many situations. ;) People are changing their mind. big hug.

Cheers for the comments guys, all really interesting to read.

Karlos, you asked what English people think of Mexicans. I can only answer that personally but I'll give you a straight answer.

I always thought Mexicans were a really easy going nationality, work hard yeah but very laid back and chilled out about things but I also thought they were terrotorial and protective over what they had. Basically a nationality that takes no shit from anyone.

I am now a little more educated and know that the Mexicans I have met on this forum are extremely friendly and seem the sort of people that would look after a stranger and make sure they were okay.

Yes, in the 70´s-80´s we were very protective with our industie, but not any more! We are not cubans!! lol

Since 90´s we started to negotiate a lot of international trades...for example with JAPAN, USA, CANADA, EUROPEAN COMUNITY, ARGENTINA, BRASIL, CENTRAL AMERICA ETC ETC...
